Lavender Sugar Cookies and Roasted Provincial Potatoes with Lavender Fields, Del.
We’re putting a twist on the traditional sugar cookie. We’re adding lavender to a few recipes today!
Marie Mayor, Co-Owner of Lavender Fields in Milton, Del., is back in the DelmarvaLife kitchen.We’re making lavender cookies, lavender vinegar, lavender potatoes, and lavender lemonade.
Lavender Sugar Cookies:
1 cup softened unsalted butter
1/2 cup lavender sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
2 cups flour
Cream the butter and sugar together, add salt and flower. Mix thoroughly. Chill one hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Form the dough into small balls, less than one inch. Roll in additional lavender sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 – 12 minutes. Remove to cool.
Roasted Provincial Potatoes:
Pre-heat the oven to 425 degrees. Cut 1.5 lbs. of red potatoes into 3/4 wedges, leaving the skins on. Toss the potatoes with 2 T. olive oil, 1.5 T. herbs de provence, 1/2 tsp. salt. Place the potatoes, flesh side down on a cookie sheet, cover tightly with foil. Bake covered for 20 minutes then uncover for 15 minutes. Now turn over each wedge to brown the other side and cook for an additional 15 mins.
