Ironman Maryland Donates Backpacks to Dorchester County Public Schools

“We are very grateful to Ironman Maryland for this gift,” Mitchell said. “Ironman Maryland is a
such a valuable partner, supporting our schools and students in many different ways. We look forward to
continuing to work together in 2018 and beyond.”
The backpacks were presented by Gerry Boyle, race director of Ironman Maryland. The Ironman Maryland Competition is an annual triathlon race in Cambridge, guiding athletes through Dorchester County and Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge.
“We are glad to be able to support Dorchester County’s schools and involve the students in Ironman Maryland in as many ways as possible,” Boyle said.
The backpacks are a gift to the more than 300 students who volunteered to help with the event. They will be distributed to individual schools throughout Dorchester County.
“It is this kind of community support that makes Ironman Maryland a popular race for triathletes,” Boyle said.
