Red Wolves, Like the Ones at Salisbury Zoo, Need Your Help
It turns out, all the wild red wolves that remain in the wild are currently in North Carolina, and the state’s Wildlife Resources Commission has asked the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service to remove them, threatening their very existence.
Red wolves are a distinct wolf species that is critically endangered, with only 62 known individuals in the wild. These majestic creatures are only found in the United States.
According to the Red Wolf SSP website, if the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service removes the red wolf from North Carolina it will set an extremely dangerous precedent that will negatively impact all endangered species.
