OC Mayor Rick Meehan said Sringfest will bring in about 150,000-200,000 people to OC for the 4 day celebration from May 7-10. Donna Abbott, Tourism Director, says that Springfest has the top arts and crafts show in the nation, live entertainment, delicious food, and the boardwalk.
Chris Maxa, owner of Boardwalked, takes old boards from boardwalk renovations and places an Ocean City related picture on the board. It is a great memory to have of OC. Katherine Kiss creates whimsical art and cloth dolls and she says each one has their own personality after she makes them and they are unique.
Both come back to Springfest every year. There are also many new vendors this year.
Inner Ocean is a new vendor at Springfest that sells handmade soap made from plant based glycerin and seaweed harvested from Assawoman Bay. Jack Ferry, Executive Director at Worcester County Development Center , says that it provides meaningful employment for those with intellectual disabilities.
