Delmarva Treasure: Jim Berkman – Tuesday, March 10, 2015
For the past 27 years, he has led his lacrosse team to ten NCAA championships. He became head coach of the team in 1988 and the team’s first championship was in 1994.
Jim’s happiest moment was coaching his son Kyler. His son led the team to a couple of championships and received awards such as NCAA National Lacrosse player of the year and a three time NCAA most outstanding midfielder award.
He likes the fact that many of his previous players coach lacrosse teams now and he is proud that they are giving back to the game. He made an impact and helped them develop a love for what they say is the greatest game on earth.
