Dylan has been fishing since he was 3 and really enjoys the sport.
“I go every weekend and catch a lot of different fish,” he said.
On Dec. 7, Dylan went out with his uncle aboard Local Girl. Jim Baker, Dylan’s father, wasn’t able to go out fishing that day with his son, but said he was really proud of him.
“Their plan was to go sea bass fishing. They caught some and then on their way back, they stopped in between Jersey and Delaware to catch striper and they caught this big one,” Jim said.
“I was proud! I have never caught a striped bass that big so he definitely whopped me in that department,” he said, adding that they usually don’t catch stripers that big in Delaware.
Joe Morris, owner of the tackle store at Lewes Harbour Marina, said, “Everyone was excited about Dylan’s catch. He’s a great kid.”
“Fishing is a leisure activity we love doing. Dylan loves it probably more than anyone I know,” Jim said. “If we’re not fishing, he bugs me to go fishing.”
