Who’s Going to be at Flora and Fauna:
The Salisbury Zoo is located in Salisbury, Md., and was founded in 1954. The zoo is open every day, year-round, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., except Christmas Day and Thanksgiving. The zoo is free, but donations are accepted and appreciated.
The Ward Museum features the world’s largest public collection of decorative and antique decoys. The artwork allows visitors a glimpse of the beauty of wildfowl from around the world.
The Delmarva Discovery Center is a living museum for the public that shows preservation and interpretation of cultural and natural heritage. The exhibits take visitors on a journey through Delmarva and through the Cypress Swamp. The exhibits focus on the river ecology and the human history of the Pocomoke River and Delmarva.
The purpose of GreenSBY is to establish and maintain landscapes and gardens around the community. The group also wants to spread the knowledge to future gardeners and build edible landscapes while supporting local farmers.
The goal of the Lower Eastern Shore Beekeepers Association is to educate and mentor its members and the public to promote the importance of honeybees and responsible, sustainable beekeeping. Those interested in becoming a beekeeper are welcome to attend the association’s monthly meeting and get to know other beekeepers on Delmarva.
4-H Clubs is the largest youth development program in the nation with just over 6 million youths participating annually and 96,000 of them right here in Maryland. Check out how you can join a 4-H club in Maryland.
