WBOC Meteorologist Mike Lichniak Discusses Upcoming Hurricane Season and Conducts An Experiment

We’ve known from past experiences that hurricane season on Delmarva can be devastating. That’s why it’s best to be prepared. And as hurricane season quickly approaches, we are looking to get an idea of what to expect. WBOC Meteorologist Mike Lichniak joins us to discuss what the hurricane season could possibly look like.

We’re also taking advantage of the hot weather and doing an experiment.

Lava Lamp Experiment: 

What You Need: 

Vegetable Oil

A glass

Water

Food coloring

Alka-seltzer

Instructions: 

1. Pour a little bit of water in the class (about 1/4 cup)
2. Pour 3/4 cup of vegetable in the glass
3. Give the glass a second to settle
4. Add some food coloring drops
5. Drop in one alka-seltzer tablet
6. Wait for the reaction…and you’ll have a lava lamp!
