Downtown Pocomoke Honors 1A State Champs During 4th Friday Event, Welcomes Special Guest
The 4th Friday Art Stroll will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m., within the two blocks of Market Street between Front Street and Second Street.
Local artists and craftsmen will fill the sidewalks of Downtown Pocomoke to sell their art, including; paintings, photography, jewelry, home decor, fabric art, body products and more. During the 4th Friday event, the city encourages downtown businesses to stay open until 8 p.m. and local museums, including the Delmarva Discovery Center, will offer free admission during Art Stroll hours.
Karah Lacey, project coordinator for downtown Pocomoke, says the goal of this event is to have a fun night and bring everyone together.
“It’s really to help local artists be seen… It’s free for them to come out, show their work and sell their work.”
During this event, Pocomoke City officials will honor the Pocomoke High School Field Hockey and Men’s Basketball Teams for winning the Maryland 1A State Championship. Lacey says guests of the Art Stroll are encouraged to wear blue and gold or Pocomoke gear in support of the hometown state champs. According to Lacey, Governor Larry Hogan will also be making an appearance to the event.
In the event of rain, the Art Stroll will be relocated inside the Delmarva Discovery Center located at 2 Market Street in Downtown Pocomoke. For more information or to register as an artist, please visit downtownpocomoke.com.
