DelmarvaLife Storm Show – Sept. 8, 2016
Today on DelmarvaLife:
We get all kinds of storms on Delmarva. We are focusing on all things storm related in our show today.
It wouldn’t be a storm show without WBOC Chief Meteorologist Dan Satterfield stopping by to talk storms.
The roof of a home is very important when it comes to keeping us dry and safe during a storm. Peninsula Roofing tells us all about how important it is to keep your roof well-maintained, whether it’s residential or commercial property.
Another big issue of a storm is flooding. When your home gets flooded after large amounts of rain, your floor soaks up the water. The OC Floor Gallery can help get the problem cleaned up as soon as possible.
Storm damage can be traced below your floors into the crawl space. Critter Getters tells us all about insects and other critters that could make your home their home as well after a storm. The experts tell us how we can get rid of the pests.
Sean stopped by East Coast Shutters and Awnings to find out how important your shutters can be during a storm. We learn that most windows and doors leak with 30 mph winds so by putting a shutter on the outside, it creates an extra layer of protection.
Lisa visits Window World of Delmarva to learn about how important it is to protect your windows from hurricane strength winds.
Severe weather usually knocks out power. Delaware Electric Cooperative‘s Jeremy Tucker shows us what you need to survive an outage. Sean shows us a game to play when the electric goes off — Flashlight Pictionary.
We’re making hurricanes in the DelmarvaLife kitchen. Gretchen Reichart and Kelly Coughlin from Bourbon Street on the Beach join us to mix up a few cocktails for your hurricane party.
Hope you enjoy the show!
