Delaware Wine and Beer Festival Moves to Harrington, Slated for Oct. 15
Same festival, new location.
The festival will begin at noon on Saturday, Oct. 15 and will run until 5 p.m., offering wine and beer from local wineries and breweries.
Wendie Vestfall, executive director of Kent County Tourism, says due to another event that weekend in Dover, there wouldn’t be room for the festival.
“Delaware State University’s homecoming is that weekend and so there wasn’t a parking lot to use at the Ag[ricultural] Museum,” Vestfall says. “We’ve also outgrown it—last year there were many crowds and lines so we moved it to Harrington.”
According to Vestfall, this years event is new and improved. Festival organizers are adding additional entertainment, including 23 bands from Delaware as well as various local restaurants and chefs in the area.
“We’ll have Delaware food such as scrapple and things like that,” Vestfall says. “It’s an overall good time to hang with friends and enjoy all Delaware has to offer!”
Purchase your tickets before July 8 to receive an early bird price of $25 per ticket. After July 8, ticket prices will jump to $35 per ticket and $40 per ticket at the door. All designated driver will be able to enter the festival for $10. To purchase tickets and for more information go to delawarewineandbeerfestival.com.
