Delaware SPCA’s 6th Annual Bark on the Boards This Saturday

The main fundraising event is a dog walk to help SPCA in its goals against animal cruelty. The dog walk will begin at noon at the north end of the boardwalk.
Besides the dog walk, there will also be a performance by the Mid Atlantic Disc Dogs as well as a “patriotic best” dog costume competition. All proceeds from these events will go directly to the SPCA.
“It’s an event for dog lovers and animal lovers alike,” SPCA Public Relations Director Marcie Urgo said. “The people of Delaware know that we need the support of the community in order to continue our mission.”
Vendors and refreshments will also be provided to those participating in the event along with a free T-shirt and bandana for anyone who registers. An after-party at The Big Chill Surf Cantina will be held as well for anyone who wants to attend.
Registration for the event costs $25 per adult, with children ages 6 to 16 costing $5. Children under the age of 5 and all dogs attending get into the event for free.
