Delaware Burn Camp Designed for Children Who Have Survived Burn Injuries
Summer is time for so many fun activities and going to summer camp can be one of the best and most memorable activities for kids.
The Delaware Burn Camp is a program created specifically for children who have survived serious burn injuries. Joanne Hutchison and camper, Nova Allbee, join us in the studio to talk about the camp.
When Nova was 9-years-old, she suffered a burn on her right arm that took six months to fully heal. Nova has been attending Delaware Burn Camp for many years.
The camp was started about nine years ago. Activities include, kayaking, swimming, horseback riding, and one day, they visit a local water park. They also have an EMS night where firefighters and rescue personnel visit the camp to show the campers what they do.
