“Her name in Pocomoke City is synonymous with this project,” said Worcester County Tourism Director Lisa Challenger.
Tull, a Pocomoke City native, also logged thousands of miles traveling to other museums for inspiration. The Delmarva Discovery Center has a huge scientific focus, with a pettable marine life tank, a bird exhibit and a fish tank among numerous other displays.
Tull served as president of the Delmarva Discovery Center’s Board of Directors for 10 years, from 1998-2008. She is currently on the center’s executive, finance, marketing and store committees. It cannot be understated just how vital she was to the viability of this local attraction.
“Barbara Tull did not sit idly by when Pocomoke City realized they needed to help in their downtown redevelopment,” said Stacey Weisner, current president and CEO of the Delmarva Discovery Center.
