Winners of WBOC’s Jefferson Awards are the best of the best when it comes to community service. Our first 2019 winner from Delmarva, the Rev. Faye Corbin, has always had a heart for giving back, from leading her congregation at the Brotherly Love House of Prayer church to literally opening her home and fridge to those in need. When WBOC’s Kimberly Holmes Wiggins paid a visit to Corbin’s home to let her know of her win, it was a big surprise to Corbin, but not to anyone else!
About the Jefferson Awards
The Jefferson Awards for Public Service are a prestigious national recognition system honoring community and public service in America.
The Jefferson Awards are presented on two levels: national and local. The mission of the Jefferson Awards is to encourage and honor individuals for their achievements and contributions through public and community service.
WBOC TV is proud to be a local partner of the Jefferson Awards, which are presented annually to unrecognized citizens on Delmarva who provide extraordinary public service.
