Barbara Entwistle’s love of sewing has served thousands of children across the globe. The Berlin, Md., grandmother starting recruiting folks from across Delmarva back in 2012 to make dresses, shorts, and accessories out of pillowcases.
Missionaries then deliver the items to children all over the world. Entwistle says that to date, she and her volunteers have made and sent nearly 700 shower kits, 2,200 pairs of shorts, and 4,800 pillowcase dresses.
“I probably have on hand right now another 500 ready to go,” Entwistle said.
“Barbara is one of the most remarkable people I know,” said friend, Bridget Foster. “She’s a very giving person.”
“When I hear how much of a difference it makes to these little girls in these little villages, that’s what makes me want to do it again and again and again,” Entwistle said.
