The first few years of the festival, it was just St. Philip’s Episcopal Church where the event took place. For the past couple of years, other churches and the Hope Lodge behind St. Philip’s has gotten involved.
The strawberry festival is from 8 am-2 pm. St. Philip’s will be selling scrapple sandwiches for breakfast, chicken salad sandwiches and hot dogs for lunch, and all types of strawberry desserts. The Hope Lodge behind the church is selling oyster fritter sandwiches and cream of crab soup. Also, Christ United Methodist Church will be selling funnel cakes and fried Oreos.
There’s plenty of food options to keep you happy at the festival, but there are also lots of vendors you can visit. The vendors are inside St. Philip’s Church and outside as well. Vendors include attic treasures, baked goods, Laurel Fire Dept., CPR training, a petting zoo, and more.
There will also be live, local entertainment all day. Here’s the entertainment schedule:
9-10 am: So JohnElijah Beckett
10-11 am: Elijah Beckett
11-noon: Brian Scarr
Noon-1: Pheonix Diego
There is also lemonade being served by the youth group at St. Philip’s and plenty of strawberries to purchase. This is a rain or shine event.
All profits go to charities and other nonprofits around the town of Laurel or that serve the town of Laurel.
