Carreen Kouts calls it Ovation Dinner Theatre‘s premiere event.
“We expect it to be nothing less than a smash hit, Wicomico Youth & Civic Center has quite the reputation in their area and this is something brand new,” Kouts, co-owner of Ovation Dinner Theatre, said. “It’s fresh and very exciting, smash hit and well-received.”
Ovation Dinner Theatre travels around a 2.5 hour radius in the Delaware, Maryland and Virginia area. The group will be performing Joey & Gina’s Italian Wedding on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center.
Joey and Gina will be getting married at this crowd-involved performance. Critics are calling it a ‘hysterical, full audience participation production.’ Both the Ovation Dinner Theatre and WY &CC encourage guests to dance, act and laugh themselves silly alongside the wedding party, as Joey and Gina try to keep their special day from turning into a complete disaster.
According to production producers, anything and everything that can go wrong does during the two and a half hour performance. Will Father Goldstein remain sober? Will club dancer, Losy Linhan keep her clothes on? Will DJ Angelo finally find his life partner? Those are just a few questions the group has.
“We have performed this a couple dozen times, we launched this particular performance less than a year ago and it has been a very popular production,” Kouts said.
Ovation Dinner Theatre is the area’s only audience-interactive comedy dinner theatre features professional, premier live and theatrical entertainment. Based out of Bethany Beach, Del., there are anywhere between 30-40 cast members on the talent team.
Complementing their performance, the WY&CC’s Encore Catering will provide the evening’s meal along with non-alcoholic beverages. Guests are permitted to bring their own spirits. Tickets to the performance are $60 and a group rate is available for parties of ten or more. The performance is capped at 150 people so don’t miss out!

Wicomico Youth & Civic Center
The Wicomico Youth & Civic Center was built in 1950 as a war memorial but was closed down after a devastating fire in 1977 and then rebuilt again in 1980. Operated under the umbrella of the County’s Recreation, Parks & Tourism Department, the center holds 5,600 seats in the 30,000 square foot arena, a 10,000 square foot secondary space with a fixed stage, as well as ten customizable meeting rooms.
Dating back to its start in 1950, the WY&CC has a war memorial in the front of the building, featuring bronze name plaques and flags representing each branch of the service. A Veterans’ Tree of Honor bears names of America’s past and present heroes in the front entranceway.
The center has a regional reputation for being a great place to hold or attend concerts, family shows, trade shows, sporting events, meetings and receptions, hosting over 400 events annually.
