Bob’s Juice Journey – The Journey Begins
Reboot. A full body/diet reboot.
The time seems right. After watching the film “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead” – parts one and two – I have decided to take on a similar challenge, if not quite as long in duration, for the betterment of my health.
The film chronicles the journey of overweight Australian Joe Cross’s 60-day juice fast as he travels across the United States armed with a vegetable juicer and a sense of humor. At journey’s end, Joe lost over 100 lbs.. gotten off all medications, and inspired many to change their lifestyle along the way.
I too became inspired and I love challenges. Twice, with diet and exercise, over the last three years, I’ve entered diet contests and lost 30 lbs. in three months both times, only to fall back to bad habits when the challenge was over.
To say the least, I am embracing this challenge.
I have committed to at least seven days. After that, we will see.
I have bought my juicer and I have had black raspberries and organic “super berries,” loaded with anti-oxidants, flown in from Northwest Wild Foods.
The journey to Whole Foods to purchase other healthy food items will be this weekend.
I will be starting the journey on Mon., Jan. 23, and writing a daily blog detailing the juice recipes how I feel each day.
I invite all to follow the journey and to watch both great films. Who knows? You may be inspired too.
