American Heart Association’s Southern Delaware Heart Walks
Cardiovascular Disease is the number one cause of death in the country.
Neil Holzman, Chair of the American Heart Association’s Southern Delaware Heart Walk talks about the upcoming event and gives us some statistics.
“Over 70% of people think they’re not at risk for a heart attack or stroke,” says Neil. “The Heart Association’s goal is to create awareness and a situation where research can reduce the overall impact of the heart disease.”
Neil says money raised on Delmarva stays locally and is used for research. Neil says the goal of the American Heart Association by 2010 is to reduce heart incidents by 20%.
They have events such as heart walks each year because walking is goof for your heart.
