4th Annual Juneteenth Celebration in Georgetown, June 15
It’s been more than 150 years since President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation freeing all slaves.
It’s an event that will be celebrated next weekend in Georgetown. We learn more about the Juneteenth celebration from the chairperson of the event, Jane Hovington; and coordinator Paula Roberts.
The annual Juneteenth Celebration will be held Saturday, June 15, 11 a.m. at the Richard Allen School, 316 S. Railroad Avenue, Georgetown, with the parade beginning at 10 a.m.
